Capital Chorus, a West London Barbershop Harmony Club, is maximising the potential of the internet to promote its free ‘Learn To Sing’ summer course.

Capital Chorus’ Membership Secretary, Michael Cook, takes up the story: “In late March we approached Paul de Ridder of internet marketing experts, IRUN Docklands, to come up with an idea to advertise via the internet a free ‘Learn To Sing’ course which is to take place on Monday evenings during June and July 2009 in West London.”

Paul de Ridder IRUN Docklands comments: “The remit was that the website should be simple, catchy and informative, and that it should enable the visitor to sign up for this course online. After discussion we decided that IRUN’s WebBuildPRO package would suit their needs.”

IRUN’s WebBuildPRO packages are 100% internet based so there is no software to load or update and they include a full set of management tools which allows the client to update the site anytime, anywhere, with no special skills required.

Paul continues: “Within two weeks a suitable domain name, www.meninharmony.org.uk, was obtained, content was written, keyword research was carried out and the site went live.”

Michael Cook comments: “Within two days from the website going live we received our first online applicant; that is very encouraging. IRUN also embedded a welcoming audio file on the home page, which we did not ask for but which gives the site a nice and very appropriate touch”.

Various inbound and outbound links were researched and implemented by IRUN, which have resulted in a steady site traffic increase.

Aidan Brand, Capital Chorus’ Music Director concludes: “Singing is very good for one’s general wellbeing. We hope to attract a large number of men who always wanted to sing harmony in a group but who never felt secure enough to pursue that. We are extremely pleased with what IRUN has done for us so far and at such short notice”
